School Programs
- GymFit+ is a three term program that can be delivered at school or mpowerdome. This program has been developed with the personal development, health and physical education (PDH&PE) considerations, in mind, for students with special education needs.
mpowerdome uses an athlete centred model for the GymFit+ program rather than early specialization in sport. Therefore, term 1 (or module 1) seeks to lay the vital foundation for athlete development through the content strand of gymnastics and then builds upon this, using modified sports, in term 2 (module 2) with an introduction to the game of tennis in term 3 (module 3). The second and third modules fall into the content strands of Growth and Development, Active Lifestyle, Interpersonal Relationships, Safe Living and Games and Sports. The modules are designed in such a way that they can be delivered sequentially or as stand alone modules.
- School group facilitation. Schools attend mpowerdome and facilitators deliver a variety of sports for students. Schools can request this as a one off attendance or over a number of weeks during a term.
- Inter – school Table Cricket Carnival on the 17th November 2010 for secondary schools and the 24th November 2010 for primary schools.
