In order to uniform our sports at mpowerdome we are introducing a yellow and red card system similar to soccer. This has been trialled in netball and proven to be successful and now it will be transferred to Floorball. This system aims not only to uniform the process that penalties are given during the game, but also allow us to uniform our penalties off court for infringements. Please note that this does not replace any of the normal Floorball rules or time penalties that are already played here, it is simply an additional tool to control the game.
These are the conditions by which a player may be issued a Yellow or Red card.
Yellow Card Offences
(3 yellow cards received throughout the season will result in an automatic 1 game suspension)
The following are examples of yellow card offences:
1.Deliberate and/or continual contact of an opponent.
2.Not respecting the decision of the umpire during play.
3.Rude and obscene gestures to others.
4.The use of inappropriate language on court or from the side lines.
5.Inciting violence towards another person.
6.Dangerous use of Stick (Tripping, purposely high etc)
7.Dangerous tackles (Intention on the player not the ball)
8.Inappropriate treatment of equipment.
9.Unsportsmanlike behaviour (taunting etc)
Red Card Offences
(Receiving a red card will be an automatic 1 game suspension with the possibility of a longer period. Receiving 2 red cards in a one season will result in that individual being automatically suspended for the rest of the season.)
The umpire will automatically award a red card for the following offences.
1.Verbal or physical abuse of another person on court or on the side lines
2.Spitting at an umpire or any player.
3.Arguing or swearing at the umpire or opposition.
4.Rude and obscene gestures to the umpire.
5.Racial or abusive language to anyone on or off the court.
